FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - POST RACE
Frequently asked questions have been categorised into the topics located in the F.A.Q. menu. If the answer is insufficient for your enquiry please email info@goldcoastmarathon.com.au
1. What happens when I finish the race?
Once you've patted yourself on the back and accepted the crowds applause it's off to the Nu Pure Recovery Area for some well earned refreshments - fruit, a 600ml bottle of Nu Pure Water and lemon-lime Endura Rehydration Formula. Sports physicians and physiotherapists will be available if necessary.
You will return your electronic timing chip in the Nu Pure Recovery Area and will be rewarded for all your effort with a commemorative medal and a finishers t-shirt (marathon, half marathon, 10km run participants only).
Non finishers will not be eligible for a medal or finishers t-shirt.
NB: Failure to return the electronic timing chip will incur a fee of $25. To post the timing chip after the event, please wrap carefully in bubble wrap or enclose in an Australia Post PostPak padded bag as they are extremely fragile and will be damaged by the Australia Post sorting equipment if they are not packed properly.
If you still have your timing tag please return by Friday 9 July to the following address:
Gold Coast Airport Marathon, PO Box 4920, GCMC QLD 9726, Australia
2. Junior Dash recovery
To assist Parents/Guardians in the supervision and collection of their child after the completion of the Junior Dash, an access wrist band will be placed in the race kit of every Junior Dash entrant. This fluoro wrist band will need to be worn by the Parent/Guardian in order to access the designated Junior Dash section of the Nu Pure Recovery Area. There is only one wrist band allocated per child.
3. Is there anything to do post-recovery?
After finishing your race and leaving the Nu Pure Recovery Area, participants are encouraged to stay in the race precinct to cheer on the thousands of other participants and watch the presentations and take advantage of the fantastic atmosphere and live entertainment as well as a great array of food and beverage options.
4. What time are the Presentation Ceremonies?
On stage entertainment commences at 8am. Exact presentation times for each event will be advised soon.
5. When will results be available?
Provisional race results will be available on the Gold Coast Airport Marathon website by 6pm on Sunday 3 July. A hard copy of results will be published in the Gold Coast Bulletin on Monday 4 July.
6. Where do you purchase the official photographs?
The official event photographer will endeavour to photograph every participant in all events. Wear your number on the front of your shirt for easy identification. Photos can be viewed and ordered from the Marathon-Photos website shortly after the event. www.marathon-photos.com
